WE WELCOME YOUR COMMENTS, PICTURES, & STORIES

The first question for most of us is "How can I post a comment on this blog?" There is a difference between Making a New Post and Making a Comment on a post. Only the webmaster has the ability to place a new post on the site. If you have a story, picture or memory to share, please email your posts to Mike Voolich at mvoolich@gmail.com and I will post them on the site. If you want to make a comment on an existing post, go to the bottom of that post, and click on the word comment. You can then say what you have to say about that post. If you encounter any difficulty, don't hesitate to contact the webmaster who will be happy to assist you.

Hello to all of you who attended St. Margaret’s School which was located on the corner of 14th Avenue West and Dravus. It was built in 1923, served the parish for nearly 50 years, and was torn down in 1971. I was a member of the class of 1957. I had often thought that it would be neat to have a reunion of people that we went to grade school with, as well as the nuns who taught us and the parents and workers who helped give us a familial community. Those were special times for many of us and still hold some fond memories. Collectively we have gone in a myriad of life’s directions, faced a great many different challenges, and a good number of our schoolmates are no longer with us. After Bill Jaeger passed away in January of 2009, I found out that Phyllis, his mom, had also passed away just a few weeks earlier. I looked up her obit on the web and found remembrances from Jerry Mylet, Geri(Geraldine Jandl)Johnson, and Renee Perrault. I finally contacted Geri and a few other of my classmates, Herman “Sock”Naehter, his mother Mary Jane who ran the school lunchroom while I attended the school, Kalei (Janice Siguenza) Bailey, Margaret (Peggy) Ryan, Ronnie Kerzic, and Steven Hasslinger(he actually contacted me with a picture from our cub scout days). I emailed and spoke with Geri about planning a reunion and she has got the ball rolling as they say. Since many students had siblings who attended over the years, she thought that the reunion should be opened up to anyone who attended St. Margaret’s School. The date will be August 22, 2010, from 2-5 PM in the afternoon at Our Lady of Fatima Hall on Magnolia. The site was chosen because it is larger than St. Margaret’s Parish Hall, has plenty of parking, and is handicapped accessible. Please save the date if you are interested in attending. And please spread the word to anyone you know who attended St. Margaret’s. Geri will act as the local point person. She lives in Everett. Her phone number is: (425) 337-3658. Her email is roygerijohnson@msn.com . If you are interested in attending, would like to help, or know the whereabouts of former classmates and/or friends who attended in different years from your own, please let Geri know.
In addition to Geri, inquiries may be directed to Mary Ellen (Switter) Estes (’52) zeemee820@aol.com  (360)895-6904   and Mike Voolich ('57) (617)666-0666 mvoolich@gmail.com.
