WE WELCOME YOUR COMMENTS, PICTURES, & STORIES

The first question for most of us is "How can I post a comment on this blog?" There is a difference between Making a New Post and Making a Comment on a post. Only the webmaster has the ability to place a new post on the site. If you have a story, picture or memory to share, please email your posts to Mike Voolich at mvoolich@gmail.com and I will post them on the site. If you want to make a comment on an existing post, go to the bottom of that post, and click on the word comment. You can then say what you have to say about that post. If you encounter any difficulty, don't hesitate to contact the webmaster who will be happy to assist you.

Play Ball !

Thanks to the efforts of Mary Ann (Sutlovich) Bishop (1945), Sam Mezich and Sally Keane (!946), Louise (Sutlovich) Major (1947) & her husband Dick Major, we are blessed with photos from the late 30's and the 40's. Today's first postings are of St. Margaret's baseball teams that competed before the formal beginning of the   CYO (1951).
First we have the 1939 Baseball Champions of the Parochial School League(before the CYO existed)
Top:Jimmy Brown, Harold Allison, George Shaunessey, Bob Lorbeske, Jack Brown, Jack Ferluga, Father Corboy

Bottom: Mike (Toddy) Scrivanich, Pete Mezich, Robert (Fats) Tarabochia, Jesse Silas

And next we have the 1946 baseball team.

Top:    Bob Kelly, Dewey Churlin, Art Tarabochia, Mr. Ernie Piro(coach) Don Piro, Al Walsh, Sam Mezich
Bottom: Christie Mezich, Bob Foster, Anthony Churlin, Jimmy Mesmer, Bob Bozanich

I wonder what Interbay Field was like in those days. The PSL (Parochial School League) was the structure/organization for athletic competition for the Catholic schools in the 30's and 40's. In the Seattle Archdiocese, the CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) was not founded until 1951 with Father Richard Stohr, the assistant pastor at St. Margaret's, serving as its founding director.

I was wondering if you ever considered changing the page layout of
your site? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.

But maybe you could a little more in the way of content
so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or 2 images.
Maybe you could space it out better?
